Rakin’ Bacon is the golden pig slot from AGS that you may have seen on casino floors across the country. The demo on this page is the online version of that same machine. It runs on play-money credits in your browser, so you can try the free spins choice and the jackpot pick game without spending anything.
The game keeps things simple. You spin five reels, wins pay on 243 ways instead of fixed lines, and a fat gold pig sits beside the reels while you play. Two features do most of the work: a free spins bonus where you choose how many spins you want, and a pick game that awards one of four jackpots.

How Rakin' Bacon Works
Rakin’ Bacon uses five reels with three rows of symbols. There are no paylines to follow. Matching symbols pay when they land on neighboring reels starting from the left, in any row. That gives 243 ways to win on every spin. AGS calls this system PowerXStream. Your bet is one total amount per spin, from 0.88 to 176 credits in the online version.
The low symbols are the card ranks Jack through Ace. The better symbols are the pig’s bow tie and top hat, gold coins, cash bundles, a diamond ring and gold bars, and the pig himself pays the most. The wild is a gold coin stamped with the pig’s face. It lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and stands in for the regular symbols to complete a win.
The published RTP is 95.89%. RTP is the share of all bets a slot pays back to players over a very long time. Volatility is rated high. Volatility describes how often and how big a slot pays, and a high rating means longer quiet stretches with larger wins when they come. Most of the bigger payouts arrive through the free spins or a jackpot.
Rakin' Bacon Bonus Features
Free Spins Bonus (choose your own volatility)
Three or more pot of gold bonus symbols start the bonus. You then pick one of three options: 15 free spins on the normal 243 ways, 10 free spins on taller reels with 1,024 ways, or 5 free spins on the tallest reels with 3,125 ways.
Jackpot Pick Bonus
Any wild coin that lands on reels 2, 3 or 4 can trigger this feature at random. You see 12 gold coins and turn them over one at a time. The first jackpot you match three times is the one you win: Mini, Minor, Major or Grand.
PowerXStream ways
Wins do not need a payline. Matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left pay in any row, which is why the number of ways grows from 243 to as many as 3,125 when the reels get taller in the free spins.
More Rakin' Bacon Versions to Play Free
AGS has built a whole family around the pig. Rakin’ Bacon Odyssey keeps the 243 ways layout and adds a grid that can grow during free spins. Rakin’ Bacon Sahara is a desert-themed edition. The Jackpots Bonus Board and Jackpots Bonus Wheel games, and the two Triple Oink titles, San Shen Zhu and Soda Fountain Fortunes, are newer branches of the series with their own bonus rounds. You can load any of them from the version list on this page.
Good to Know Before You Play
- The fewer free spins you choose, the more ways to win each spin has. Fifteen spins is the steadier choice, and five spins on 3,125 ways is the one with bigger swings.
- The Jackpot Pick Bonus is triggered at random by a wild coin. Nothing on the screen tells you when it is about to happen.
- The smallest bet in the online version is 0.88 credits per spin, which is higher than on many slots. Check the bet before you spin.
- This is a high volatility game. Expect many spins with small wins or none at all between the features.
