The Willy Wonka slot machines have been on casino floors for more than a decade. Light & Wonder has held the license since 2012 and has released a dozen Wonka titles. The demo on this page is Willy Wonka Pure Imagination, an online version from 2024. It is free to play here with play-money credits, with no download and no sign-up.
This is not the same game as the older cabinets you may remember, so expect different features. Pure Imagination plays on a tall grid of five reels and five rows. Oompa Loompas step in at random to add wilds, stretch the reels or multiply a win. Golden eggs trigger the free spins, and every free spins round ends with a Wonka Bar that may hold a Golden Ticket.

How Willy Wonka Works
The game has 5 reels and 5 rows, with 40 fixed paylines. A payline is a set path across the reels, and matching symbols along it from the left pay a prize. Bets run from 0.25 to 50 credits per spin. During one random feature the reels can grow to 8 or 10 rows, which raises the line count to 61 or 75.
The Oompa Loompa is the wild. It can land on any reel and replaces every regular symbol, though not the golden egg. Five wilds on a line pay 4 times your total bet, the best line prize in the game. The golden egg is the scatter. Scatters count anywhere on the screen, and five or more of them start the free spins.
The RTP, the share of all bets a slot pays back over time, is 94.03% at the top setting and 92% at the lower one. Volatility, which describes how often and how big a game pays, is medium-high. That means the larger wins are concentrated in the features. The most the game can pay is 5,000 times the bet.
Willy Wonka Bonus Features
Oompa Loompa Feature
This can start at random on any spin. It can add 1 to 5 full reels of wilds, grow the reels to 8 or 10 rows for 61 or 75 paylines, or multiply the win by 2, 3, 5 or 10. The feature always pays at least 5 times your bet.
Free Spins
Five or more golden eggs anywhere on the screen trigger the round. You get one free spin for each egg. On every spin, 1 to 3 oversized symbols spin with the reels, and random positions change to match them. The round pays at least 10 times your bet.
Golden Ticket
After every free spins round, a Wonka Bar is unwrapped. It holds either nothing or the Golden Ticket, which pays 5,000 times your bet. Only one ticket can be won per round.
More Willy Wonka Versions to Play Free
The other Wonka demos on this page are separate games. World of Wonka is an online adaptation of the land-based machine of that name, with 50 paylines and a top win of 1,030 times the bet. Dream Factory pays up to 10,000 times the bet. Dreamers of Dreams uses a grid of 6 reels and 4 rows that can expand, and adds a bonus wheel. I Want It Now, Everlasting Gobstopper and Welcome My Friends are further film-themed versions with their own rules and paytables.
Good to Know Before You Play
- The Oompa Loompa Feature and the free spins both come with a guaranteed minimum, 5 times and 10 times your bet. If the round pays less, the game tops it up.
- You need five golden eggs for the bonus, not the usual three. More eggs mean more free spins, one spin per egg.
- Paylines are fixed at 40, so you only choose the total bet. The lowest bet is 0.25 credits and the highest is 50.
- Several Wonka versions are listed on this page. Each has its own rules, so check the paytable when you switch.

Willy Wonka FAQ
Can I play the Willy Wonka slot for free?
Yes. The demo on this page runs on play-money credits. There is nothing to download and no sign-up. The credits have no cash value and cannot be cashed out, so you can try the game and its features without spending anything.
What is the RTP of Willy Wonka Pure Imagination?
The RTP is 94.03% at its highest setting. A 92% setting also exists, and each casino chooses which one to run. RTP is the share of all bets a slot pays back over a very long run of spins, not a figure for one session.
How do you trigger the bonus in Willy Wonka Pure Imagination?
Land five or more golden egg scatters anywhere on the screen in one spin. You receive one free spin per egg. Each round also ends with a Wonka Bar that may contain the Golden Ticket, worth 5,000 times your bet.
Is this the same Willy Wonka slot machine found in casinos?
Not exactly. The Wonka machines in casinos are a family of different cabinets released since 2012. The demo here is Pure Imagination, an online version from 2024 with its own features. World of Wonka, also playable on this page, is adapted from a land-based machine.
