Coyote Moon is one of IGT’s long-running casino favorites, a desert wildlife slot known for its stacked wilds. The game on this page is Coyote Moon Desert Nights, the newer version that IGT brought to casino floors in 2025 and then released online. It is not the original machine, so the bonus works differently from the one you may remember.
Desert Nights keeps the desert setting and the stacked wilds, then adds three pots above the reels. Each pot stands for its own free games feature: Nudging Wilds, Jackpot Wilds and Expanding Reels. The pots can also combine, and the Mega Feature runs all three together. The demo here plays with free credits.

How Coyote Moon Works
The base game uses five reels with four rows and 40 paylines that pay from left to right. The listed bet range for the online version is 0.15 to 15 per spin. The wild symbols come in tall stacks, as they did in the original game. A stack that fills a reel can connect many lines at once.
Three pots sit above the reels, one for each bonus feature. When a pot is triggered you win free games with that pot’s feature switched on. The features can also combine in the same round. If all three pots go together you get the Mega Feature, which awards 12 free games when it is triggered from the base game.
The listed RTP is 94.86%, and volatility is rated medium. RTP is the share of all bets a slot pays back over a very long time. Volatility describes how often and how big a slot pays, and a medium rating means a balance of small wins and larger bonus wins. The maximum win is listed at 2,000 times the bet.
Coyote Moon Bonus Features
Nudging Wilds
Free games in which a wild stack that lands only partly in view nudges to fill the whole reel. The nudged wilds can also carry a 2x or 3x multiplier, which raises the wins they take part in.
Jackpot Wilds
Free games in which wild symbols may reveal a jackpot symbol. These give you a chance at one of four jackpots, named Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, on top of the normal line wins.
Expanding Reels
Free games played on taller reels, up to six rows, with 20 extra paylines for 60 in total. Wild multipliers are in play, and blue coins that land during the round award additional free games.
Mega Feature
All three pots at once. You get free games with expanded reels, nudging wilds and jackpot wilds running together. When the Mega Feature is triggered from the base game it awards 12 free games.
Good to Know Before You Play
- This is the Desert Nights version. If you came for the original Coyote Moon and its simpler free spins bonus, the rules here are different.
- The game decides which pot is triggered. You do not get to choose your feature.
- The four jackpots are fixed prizes. They are not a progressive pool shared with other players.
- The listed RTP of 94.86% is a little lower than many online slots, so play-money balances can run down faster here than in some other demos.
