Pixies of the Forest is a five-reel IGT slot set in a fairy woodland. It came out in 2012 and has stayed popular because of one feature, Tumbling Reels, which lets a single spin pay several times in a row. The demo on this page is the standard online version and plays with free credits.
The game has 99 paylines but you only pay 33 coins to cover all of them, so each coin buys three lines. On top of the tumbling wins there is a free spins bonus where you make a pick to see how many spins you get. The pace is gentle, and the wins tend to be small and frequent.

How Pixies of the Forest Works
The reels are five wide and three high, with 99 fixed paylines that pay from left to right. A spin costs 33 coins, and you choose the value of each coin. The top symbols are the game logo and the pixie characters. Below them sit the lower-paying card symbols. Five logos on a line pay 2,000 times the coin value, which is the best line prize.
After any win, Tumbling Reels takes over. The winning symbols vanish, the symbols above drop down, and new ones fall in from the top. If that makes a new win, it pays and the reels tumble again. This repeats until no new win appears, all for the price of one spin. The wild symbol lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 and replaces everything except the bonus symbol.
The RTP is listed between 93.95% and 94.9%, depending on how a casino sets the game. RTP is the share of all bets a slot pays back over a very long time. Volatility is low to medium. Volatility describes how often and how big a slot pays, and this rating means frequent small wins and fewer large ones.
Pixies of the Forest Bonus Features
Tumbling Reels
Every winning spin removes the winning symbols and drops new ones into the gaps. Each new win pays and starts another tumble. The chain ends when a tumble brings no win. It works in the base game and in the free spins.
Free Spins Bonus
Three bonus symbols on a payline start the bonus. You then pick one of the hidden choices on screen to reveal your number of free spins, anywhere from 5 to 11. Tumbling Reels stays active, and wilds can appear on one more reel than in the base game.
Wild symbols
The purple wild appears on the three middle reels in the base game and substitutes for all symbols except the bonus symbol. In the free spins it can also land on reel 1, which makes long line wins easier to complete.
More Pixies of the Forest Versions to Play Free
Two follow-ups are also playable here. Pixies of the Forest II keeps the Tumbling Reels and adds a progressive jackpot and a fuller free spins round, with a listed RTP of 96.57%. MegaJackpots Pixies of the Glade ties the pixie theme to IGT’s MegaJackpots progressive prize. If you like the original for its calm pace, start with the first game and try the sequel when you want more going on.
Good to Know Before You Play
- You always play all 99 lines. The only thing you change is the coin value, and the spin costs 33 times that value.
- The free spins have no win multiplier. Their extra value comes from the tumbles and from wilds landing on one more reel.
- The bonus symbols must line up on a payline to count. Three of them scattered in different rows will not always start the free spins.
- The RTP is on the low side for an online slot, so a play-money session can drift down slowly even while the tumbles keep paying small wins.

Pixies of the Forest FAQ
Can I play Pixies of the Forest for free?
Yes. The demo on this page runs on play-money credits, with no download and no sign-up needed. You can reload the page to get a fresh balance. The credits are for practice and fun only and cannot be cashed out.
What is the RTP of Pixies of the Forest?
Most listings give Pixies of the Forest an RTP of 94.9%, and one lists 93.95%. IGT lets casinos choose between settings, so the figure depends on where the game is running. Either way it is a little below the average for online slots.
How do you trigger the bonus in Pixies of the Forest?
You need three bonus symbols on a payline. The game then shows a pick screen, and the choice you select reveals between 5 and 11 free spins. Tumbling Reels keeps working during the bonus.
Why does Pixies of the Forest cost 33 coins for 99 lines?
IGT built the game so that each coin covers three paylines. Thirty-three coins therefore cover all 99 lines. Line wins are paid as a multiple of the coin value, not of the full 33-coin bet.
