White Rabbit is a 2017 slot from Big Time Gaming, the Australian studio that invented the Megaways system. It is based on Alice in Wonderland, with the Red Queen, the March Hare and a sleepy caterpillar who sits beside the reels. It was never a casino floor machine. It was made for online play from the start.
The demo on this page is the original White Rabbit Megaways. Its main draw is a free spins round where the reels grow taller as you play, which raises the number of ways to win from 16,807 to as many as 248,832. You can try it here with free practice credits.

How White Rabbit Works
Megaways means the number of symbols on each reel changes with every spin. Here there are 5 reels, and each one shows between 2 and 7 symbols. You win when the same symbol lands on neighboring reels from the left, in any position. With all five reels at full height there are 16,807 ways to win.
The game has a wild that stands in for regular symbols. From time to time the caterpillar wakes up and blows smoke rings onto the reels. These become bonus wilds that carry a 2x or 3x multiplier, and if more than one is part of the same win the multipliers are multiplied together.
The March Hare is the scatter. It appears on the three middle reels only, and all three are needed to start the free spins. In many places the game also has a Feature Drop button, which lets you buy the free spins outright for 100 times your bet. In the demo that costs only practice credits.
White Rabbit Bonus Features
Caterpillar bonus wilds
At random in the main game, the caterpillar adds up to four bonus wilds to the reels. Each one multiplies any win it is part of by 2x or 3x, and the multipliers of several wilds in one win are multiplied together.
Free Spins
March Hare scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the same spin award 15 free spins. The reels keep any extra height they gain during the round, so the number of ways to win tends to climb as the spins go on.
Extending Reels
In free spins, each cupcake symbol that lands splits into two new symbols and makes its reel one position taller. A reel can grow to 12 symbols. With every reel at 12 there are 248,832 ways to win.
Queen’s Reel and extra spins
When a reel reaches the full 12 symbols it awards between 3 and 12 extra free spins and becomes a Queen’s Reel, which carries more Red Queens and more wilds than a normal reel.
Feature Drop
Where it is offered, you can buy the free spins at any time for 100 times your total bet. Coins marked BTG that land on the reels during normal play lower the price shown on the button.
More White Rabbit Versions to Play Free
White Rabbit 2, released in late 2025, is the sequel. It keeps the extending reels, the cupcakes and the 248,832 ways in free spins, and adds a Hold and Spin feature that starts when six or more coins land, with fixed Megapots prizes. It is listed with an RTP of 96.36%, up to 20 free spins at the start of the bonus and a much higher top win of 133,100 times the bet.
Good to Know Before You Play
- RTP is the share of all bets a slot pays back over time. White Rabbit is usually quoted at 97.24%, or 97.72% when the bonus is bought, which is high. Lower settings exist.
- Volatility means how often and how big a game pays. This game is high volatility, and most of its value sits in the free spins.
- The scatter lands on the three middle reels only, so you need all three in one spin. There is no award for two.
- Buying the bonus costs 100 bets and can still pay back much less than that. In the demo it is a free way to see the round.
